Beata Hlavenková, the piano player and arranger who also leads her own trio and has taken part in such projects as S\'Aight, Open Sextet and Eternal Seekers has recorded her first solo album consisting exclusively of original compositions. The album was recorded in New York starring Ingrid Jensen on trumpet, Rich Perry on sax, Matt Clohesy on double bass, Jon Wikan on drums, Dave Easley on pedal steel guitar and Lenka Dusilová as a guest singer. The album called Joy for Joel will be released on April 20, 2009 at Animal Music label.
The CD will be released during Beata’s Czech tour which will take place from April 16 to April 23, 2009. Jon Wikam and Ingrid Jensen, who were among the recording artist on the CD will join Beata Hlavenkova on the tour as well as the Polish bass player Michał Barański, who is well known in the Czech Republic mainly due to his collaboration with David Dorůžka.
